Let's start talking about the TSP Ratstravaganza again
Spotted this video over at Runnin' Scared. A staffer at the Comptroller's Office, which conducted an audit about not-so-swell conditions for kids in City parks, sent along the video from Tompkins Square Park ... not sure when this was made (not recently, a little green out) ... But it brings us back to the heady days of the TSP Ratstravaganza from last summer.
Speaking of rats. Here's some gore from this week in Tompkins Square Park...
Not this one...

i like the rats.
ReplyDeleteOMG! Like the rats get tuck in my flip flops! So gross!!!
ReplyDeleteIf poison is a no-go, why not give animal control or a few cops an air gun and let them go to town on a designated day?
ReplyDeleteTownships with deer over-runs basically allow hunters a one day slaughter. Very controversial, but effective. With rats, perhaps less controversial.
Last Sunday, March 4th, around 11:15 AM I was heading home after picking up a few things at the TSP Greenmarket. As I walked on A parkside past the playground I saw a nervous elderly couple with a bulging plastic bag. I walked west on 9th but turned around in time to see them do a quick and furtive dump of bread stuffs next to the playground. They hurried off.
ReplyDeleteI assume there's a good chance they were responsible for the large hamantaschen I saw a rat carry off through an engorged flock of pigeons about the same time a couple of weeks before.
Based on the location of the dumping, my question is:
bird lovers or anti-gentrifiers?
