Tonight, 'Taxi Driver,' plus more about 'Films in Tompkins' this summer


A few weeks, Scoopy at The Villager had the scoop on the free summer movie series in Tompkins Square Park... We received the news release on Tuesday... a quick note before the cut-n-paste job below. The lineup looks to have changed by one film ... "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is off the list that Scoopy had ... "Donnie Darko" moved slots to cover that night ... and "Goldfinger" is the new addition to the lineup, which definitely sets us up for a Pussy Galore reference.

    Hey, just a question for anyone who has attended these film nights--is there a major rat presence? Sorry, I really want to attend but I have a serious phobia.

    Donnie Darko would be fun (it is a good movie and it has a great soundtrack -- Echo and the Bunnymen, The Church, Tears For Fears, Joy Division, etc. -- good times, good times) but wouldn't be as much fun to watch as Rocky Horror Picture Show.

    Any reason why it was switched? They should have dropped that Banksy film instead.

    Not sure why anyone would want to attend movies sponsored by three of the worst bars in the neighborhood and one of worst real estate brokers and developers. That's right these fims are brought to you buy:
