The State seizes Fares Deli on Avenue A
Bobby Williams passes along word this afternoon that the State has seized Fares Deli on Avenue A for "non payment of taxes."
Perhaps this is all temporary, as we saw in February with Avenue A Wine & Liquor ... Or maybe this is the second deli to close on Avenue A this year...

If you, say, hypothetically lived in the building above (the entrance to the apartment area is through the green gate on the right of the picture), and the landlord owned the bodega that has now been seized...what does that mean for your future?
ReplyDeleteIt was curtains for them once they changed the signage out front. I loved that old sign.
ReplyDeleteThis is a big loss (temporary?) for this corner. 'Tony's' was/is THE hub of activity, and (bigger loss than the place btwn 6&7-in the movie theater).
ReplyDeleteSame owner/operator for years, VERY neighborhood feel. Sure hope he's not gone.
