Not real cozy-looking just yet here on Second Avenue and East 10th Street. And is that police tape?
Updated:
A reader walked by around 7:45 tonight and noted two tables were occupied so far ...
They'll likely need to add some greenery to the space a la DBGB to make it look a little more inviting...
I can't wait for the outrage.
ReplyDelete"And is that police tape? " Velvet rope substitute. Where’s the MWIB clipboard Valkyries? Did they fly back to WI?
ReplyDeleteI saw this new setup tonight as I walked by. It consumes a LOT of the sidewalk. Not sure how appealing it's going to be sitting out there. The next block is densely populated with bars, it's a Mardi Gras nightmare in this area most nights.
ReplyDelete@notorious: don't worry about losing sidewalk area, just walk through the cafe area. "Excuse me, sorry, oopsie!"
ReplyDeleteit's probably still more appealing than the 5 napkin burger outdoor seating
ReplyDeletei don't understand sitting outside where there is heavy traffic and fumes, unless you want to take your dog with you when you eat out.
ReplyDeleteor i guess if you want to be seen.
I love the greenery outside DGBGCDBGCDG's! Dining in the gutter, shouting over constant horn honking, confusing consonants, they're ace!
ReplyDeleteProvide it and they will sit.
ReplyDeleteEating on the Avenues isn't much fun no matter the restaurant. I prefer the cafes on the side streets, such as Sidewalk or Spina on B & 11th.
ReplyDeleteI walked by here yesterday. The table look as if they are made out of grooved cement.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nightmare
ReplyDeleteI hate DBGB only because of their outdoor barriers -- they take up way too much of the sidewalk, and those of us walking by are left to bump into each other. it sux. Same for Pulinos!
ReplyDeleteYou have a complaint about a sidewalk cafe that is blocking the sidewalk, eh? Well, duckies ..
ReplyDeleteOnline Complaint Form - Sidewalk Cafe Blocking the Sidewalk
There is a real problem with the outdoor cafes then "abandoning" their placards out into the public sidewalk. Its fucking bullshit. I guess if the Occupiers were involved a SWAT team would be on sight, but its ok for these carpetbaggers to block the sidewalks for their private business.
ReplyDeleteSomeone told me a crusty sprayed a bottle of urine on the people eating outside last night. Has anyone heard anything about this?
ReplyDeleteLook at me, look at me, I'm so important and posh!
