Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope !
ReplyDeleteWell, the looming menace of Death from Above rather shatters the apparent tranquility of this space, but at least I give the developers credit for creating a beautiful public space. More green would be welcome, though.

this is a public plaza?
ReplyDeleteAbout as appealing as a broken glass enema.
ReplyDeleteThe NYU dorm in the background almost makes Death look good.
ReplyDeleteI can recommend everyone do a google street view "drive by" right now of 51 Astor Place. Google drops you in at the big starbucks.. and you can "drive" past 51 astor place. The photos they use are from different times, so the NY Film School cafe spot is still there in a couple of the shots. Then the scalfolding, then some of the frame of the new building. Sort of a "time lapse" photo drive by thing... it is interesting to see.
ReplyDeleteSkateboarders will ruin that nice wood as soon as they can get their dirty, gritty wheels on them.
ReplyDeleteWonderful public plaza
ReplyDeleteFOR MY DOG TO POOP ON AHAHAHAHAHA
@ BT
ReplyDeleteYeah, I had noticed that several weeks ago.
(In google St. View) If you stand on the NE corner of St Marks and 2nd, facing the building, rotating left would show the old; rotate right would show the new (or something like that)
I stopped (just about where that sign is) yesterday, and stood there for a bit just to take a look around. The security guard was eye-balling me as if I had a brick in my hand, or something.

ReplyDeleteWhere is this place? I always make a left turn when I leave my building, except when I need to buy socks or underwear.

ReplyDeleteThat's what we pay them for. For $ 8200 a month I want some privacy.
