Essex Street sinkhole now threatening to swallow this 'Village Voice' box
Back on Monday, BoweryBoogie reported on the sinkhole that formed at the southwest corner of Essex and Stanton Streets following Tropical Storm Andrea...
There's progress to report. Not so much in favor of pedestrians, cyclists or motorists (or newspaper boxes) though...

Oh, the Village Voice. I remember that paper very well. People used to line up near Christopher Street and 7th Avenue South on Tuesday nights. That was the first newsstand to get next day's edition of the VV. The only paper for less than well-to-do folks to look for apartments in the city, especially downtown. And that's how it was, prior to Craigslist and the Internet.

That kiosk would've charged you $1.00 just before the shuttered New York Press forced them to go 'advert based free'
