  6. I've watched Whip Man in Tompkins Square park use his whip to snap an object out of a small child's hand. He may know what he is doing, but it is still stupid.

  8. Interesting article in DNAinfo -- "Residents who complain about the Lower East Side's liquor-soaked bar scene may be surprised to learn that there used to be far more bars in the neighborhood — back in 1885."

    It's probably true that residents would be surprised to learn anything about this area before they moved in.
