Over on East 12th Street between First Avenue and Avenue A... EVG reader Sharon Lawless spotted the following vanity plate... in the (former?) shadows of the almost-demolished Mary Help of Christians and the latest luxurious effort from Karl Fischer. She asks, is this the Ghost of Christmas Future?
Oh, yeah! Beverly Hills 10009.
Yes, the plates are registered to that ghost, apparently. Good catch, sad news.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least it doesn't say DEBENTURES. Bonds (debt in general) are one of the primary ways wealth is transferred to the 1%. If a company does poorly, holders of equities receive less; if a city does poorly, interest on bonds still has to be paid before anything else.
ReplyDeleteThis couldn't be any more douchey.
ReplyDeleteExcept maybe some be-dazzling of that plate frame.
That car needs to be seriously keyed.
ReplyDeleteNaw, property destruction is a juvenile way to make a point. Take a dump on that gleaming white hood instead. It'll wash right off
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it is someone associated with that building across the street from the school with the multi-million dollar apartments. All sorts of douchey types having been going in and out lately.
ReplyDeleteIs that Lady Gaga? And whatever happened to EV Lambo?
ReplyDeleteone never has a carton of eggs when one needs one.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see someone trying so desperately to let everyone know how rich he is, I assume the person is up to his eyeballs in debt. Also, a giant douche.
ReplyDeleteRe: "Beverly Hills 10009"
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!
Oh! I thought they misspelled "etiquette". Time to clean screen/glasses..
ReplyDeleteMay as well paint a bull's eye on the hood with a plate like that in the East Village (yes - even today as there are still PLENTY people who despise this kinda shit). The Beverly Hills frame makes it double-douchey...
ReplyDeleteSeems the old classic applies here again - say it with me in unison - "DIE YUPPIE SCUM" ;) (who knew that 30 years after the original wave of shit known forever more as yuppies this label/sentiment would still apply?)
Fuck 'em (and the Lexus they rode in on)
Oh my god! Somebody please say/do something! Don't hurt anyone or destroy property but take some sort of action!
ReplyDeleteProperty destruction is not violence. Violence is when a living being is harmed in aggression. The powers that be propel that fallacy. The fact is assholes like this driver live their lives around their property, so juvenile or not, it hurts them more than some wimpy protest, Where everyone gets their head cracked and sent to jail.
ReplyDeletelol this is my car...
