Sure, it may not look like much now... oh, forget it

Here's a quick look inside the one-year-in-making 7-Eleven, opening maybe probably next month on Avenue A and East 11th Street.

But will they have outdoor seating?!

They have totally destroyed the facade of that beautiful old red brick building with their cheap, shitty aluminum and huge glass windows and NKVD inspection-type lights. They didn't even have the ability to put the damn aluminum strips on in straight lines, they're as crooked as the path a drunk frat boy makes as he toddles down Avenue A. Just disgusting.

www.no7eleven.com posted about the facade. 7-Eleven said they'd try to blend in but they didn't. Someone called it a tuna can lol.

@Anon: 10:47 - A profound insult to tuna cans!

Are you sure this isn't a Capital One?

What's in your wallet? Chunder!

I got to watch when the facades top started to cover architectural details that the building had to define the ground from the upper floors. I wanted to say something but what good would that do. Cheap strip mall finish on an old apartment building, it will be interesting to see how graffiti resistant this facade will be...

Ahhhh double doors. To accomidate the expected stampeed into the Deathstar.

The doubles doors are to accommodate the mass escape from their human trafficking program! Google it!

7-Eleven, up your game. This is bad. Take a look at the newer Starbucks which are designed to look like the old coffee houses. At least they tried. This is pathetic.

To the right of the interior of the store (of the photo), there's a huge refrigeration section; and in the alley behind the store, three giant, loud, refrigeration vents and air conditioning units have been haphazardly placed. Every 10 to 15 minutes the units trigger release valves (circa 1950?) that whine, sputter, and fart -- no sleep for those living above the noise. Both the construction crew and real estate management refuse to address the issue. EPA has been contacted, but what's the chance they'll do anything? Every aspect of this job is shoddy.

No 7-Eleven has been made aware of the AC units. Keep your eyes out for a post.

Was out today from 1-2pm getting the word out to boycott 7 Eleven.

Gave away so many fliers we ran out. And not a single person stopped to say "Well I like 7 Eleven!" - it was virtually unanimous against the place. We said "Boycott 7 Eleven" and people were divided into two camps:

1. This is gonna be a 7 Eleven? Oh that sucks!
2. I support the boycott!

Who will shop here is a mystery to us. Time will tell how long the parent company wants to keep it open; there is no plausible way I can imagine this store being profitable!
