The gut renovation of the former 9th Street Bakery is apparently winding down... today, workers removed the plywood to show off the new exterior that will purportedly house a juice-smoothie shop...

Juice-smoothie? Not very exciting. Would have preferred a bakery again! Although we do have Veniero's and Taralluci a few steps away, so I cannot complain for lack of sweets
At least it's not another frozen live bacteria shop!

BO-ring.
...whatever
Oh joy. ANOTHER juice shop.
borrrrrinnnggg
Holy glass wall. Looks like a gerbil cage.
I think it looks great!

Something healthy without alcohol and not a major corporation, seems ok to me, hopefully pricing will be reasonable.
An abortion clinic has more charm.
Horrible. I much prefer the old version. I will never set foot in this soulless-looking hipster aquarium. A plague be upon their smoothies! May they all be lumpy!
Well if they're local and original, I'll give it a try. Wonder what the premium on the rent is over the bakery? If they have to charge a boat load of dollars for a slurp of juice, they will be gone faster than an iconic roll. I give Davey's til Xmas... $4.75 for a spoon full just don't cut it no matter how yummy.
Juice shop is useless, but so was the bakery that wasn't a real bakery but just drove stuff in from Brooklyn into that dreary space.
The "stuff" they "drove in" was FRESH and brought in every morning, probably when commenter 2:14 am was just finishing up the pub crawl for the night.
The shop was anything but dreary, it had been renovated, had plants out front, and a nice bench too.
Those who still see the work people do, and who actually like fresh bread, are in the minority ...unlike the juice/booze dudes and dudettes. Bah, humbug!
The old bakery looked like a charming local business, this new incarnation looks like a tech trade show kiosk.
It's cold and uninviting but the people who'll go there, with their faces planted firmly on their iPhones, won't notice.
