Sketchy blue box arrives on Avenue C



This arrived Friday outside La Plaza at East Ninth Street … the city has already tagged it for removal. Seeing as they are illegal and all.

The city previsouly hauled off a sketchy pink box from nearby in recent weeks.

    1. Once tagged, how long does removal take? 2. Does the company that puts these out get fined/ticketed/summoned/etc? 3. If so, how much? 4. Does the company that puts these out get them back once they are removed?

    30 days to move them? That's absurd. Sounds like it's about time to start knocking them over.

    Knocking them over will solve everything. So then instead of a large, unsightly and illegal upright bin, they'll be a large, unsightly, illegal bin on its side, taking over the sidewalk and spilling it's shitty contents everywhere so we all have to walk around it.

    The city should invite residents to come up with the best solution to use these - winner gets a prize. If they can find a way to use them then the city should take them as their property and use them.

    If tipped over the contents won't spill out. The doors on the one shown above is almost impossible to get open. Seriously, they should use those at campgrounds to keep food away from bears. Plus, if you turn it on it's side, you'd have a nice place to sit... in the shade... by the garden... not too shabby.

    Now, if that's not your thing I'm wondering how much urine would it take to fill that thing up?

    Knock them over face down so they6 can't collect any clothing. If people did that a lot, it would become unprofitable and they'd stop bringing them.

    The people who advocate tipping these boxes over are the same people who defend spray painting on the side of the Verizon building. It's just their mentality.

    I just want everyone to know that in addition to advocating turning these over, I also advocate for spray painting the side of the Verizon building.
