You are no longer welcome!
Oh! Just noticed that the Welcome to the East Village/Modelo ad on East 12th Street at Avenue A has been blacked out…
The wall previously displayed an ad for the new season of the HBO television program "Girls."
Given that this appears to be an ad wall now … what ad would you like to see next? (Serious responses are OK.)
Previously on EV Grieve:
Welcome to the East Village — home of beer

I'd like to see another Banksy there. For a while we had the cutest Little Bo Peep fishing coins out of the
ReplyDeletePay phone with here Shepard's Crook. I miss that.
how about an ad for any frat friendly college in any other city.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness that one is gone. I live on the block and I cringed every time I passed it.
ReplyDeleteI lived on this block for almost 20 years now and that was THEE most ridiculous representation of the what the E. Village is supposed to be about.
ReplyDeleteThe blank wall best represents the EV today.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just me, but I think this space is perfect for an Activia ad.--CC
ReplyDeleteEvery week, Chico should spray paint the latest EVGrieve etc Mourning Edition on the wall. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteneeds an ad for gucci
ReplyDeletePenny Arcade ad
ReplyDeleteOh no! Nicki Minaj, Ben Affleck, Katt Williams and Lana Del Rey are gone!
ReplyDeleteAgree, these people don't represent the EV of today. Next mural should include, David "Ross" and "I am a good neighbor" Schwimmer, Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz, John Legend, Christine Teigen, a bro in a pink popped-collar shirt, and his broho hanger-on in her mini-skirt and 6-inch heels.
ReplyDeleteAnd salmon pants and flip flops!
