Noted
EVG Discarded Mattress Correspondent Derek Berg spotted this on East Fourth Street between Second Avenue and the Bowery early last evening… not quite sure what this electrical get-up is…
As with most things in life, there is likely a logical explanation.

Maybe it's a "Magic Fingers" mattress vibrator, or at least something that has the same function? Anyone who ever stayed at a motel in the late 60s or early 70s will remember the metal box on the bedside table. You dropped in a quarter and the bed would vibrate for maybe three minutes.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I was going to say, Magic Fingers!
ReplyDeleteThat's what it is, I have one attached to my bed. I was that kid in the 1960s who, whenever I traveled with my parents, ran into the motel room first so I could claim the Magic Fingers bed and be narcotized while the thing buzzed and shook me to sleep. Memories!

If I saw that on the street I would call the "if you see something, say something" hotline.
