Santa Barbara Deli Superette closes for renovations

Oh, this is an actual closed for renovation … and not a "closed for renovations (see you later)."

Anyway! The corner market on East 12th Street and Avenue B is getting a new floor and ceiling … and an "installation of new gas service for non-residential cooking," according to DOB records.

No word on a reopening date.

And sporty plywood!

  1. New and improved is okay, as long as they come back soon. Although it's hard to improve upon such a great little business. They are wonderful people, and I've been a loyal customer since we were neighbors on 13th and B. I'll be eagerly awaiting their Grand Reopening!

  2. I live on 12th and I'm in this place literally every day. A wonderful family owns this business and to their credit they are giving this place a makeover to keep up with the times. The owner told me it should be about 6 weeks but hopefully they re-open sooner.
