Pinkberry remains closed; UPS InfoNotice® awaits
As we first noted this past week, the Pinkberry on St. Mark's Place between Second Avenue and Third Avenue abruptly closed on Tuesday… just days away from the FroYo mothership's 10th anniversary.
Meanwhile, a UPS InfoNotice® dated Wednesday remains on the door… looks like they were here for a pick up…
And this Pinkberry location has been scrubbed from the chain's website…
According to this listing, 10 PB locations remain in the city … as well as locations in Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina and Ohio, among other states not listed here.

That's 10 too many, if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteDid all of their customers finally age out of the system or move on to another fake food trend served via kiosk?
ReplyDeleteFro-Yo and Cup Cakes have already had their 15 minutes of fame. The Cupcake place on First Avenue between St. Marks and 7th Street has been empty every time I walked by.
ReplyDeleteWhy are people so happy about the loss of a local business?

ReplyDelete@Anon. 4:57 - a chain store is not "a local business". Just because they open in a neighborhood, if there's a dozen of them in the city, they are a conglomerate. Stage Deli is a local business. McDonald's is not.
ReplyDeleteHey sub-genius @ January 25, 2015 at 4:57 PM The next time you see me laud the closure of a laundromat, please point it out to me. Much obliged, UW
ReplyDeleteThe employees are local though. But who cares? Right?
ReplyDelete@Anon. 12:58- I agree and am not jumping on the bandwagon of eliminating jobs esp when so many were unemployed in the last few years. It seems "cooler" to bash on a successful business when it grows and creates more jobs and to praise the legendary one offs that couldn't make it through time or expand. I guess we should all be hating on Big Gay Ice Cream now since they're the next big thing and opening in other states.
