Christo and Dora are parents! (Again!)

Some time between Friday and Sunday, all three of Christo and Dora's hawk eggs hatched in the nest on the Ageloff Towers.

There's now a second nest cam from another angle here on Avenue A at East Third Street, so you can see the hawklets upclose right here…





Goggla has more details about all this and what the red-tailed hawk parents are up to. Goggla figures fledge time will be in mid-June.

    Anyone know whatever happened to their chicks from last year? Did they all survive and have they been spotted around the east village?

    @Anon 9:59 - last year's babies all successfully fledged and presumably left the area. The older two seemed to take off rather quickly some time in August. The youngest stuck around a few more weeks. They're not likely to return, but who knows. Unfortunately, we cannot ID any of them, but I'd love to be able to track them and see where they go. It would be interesting to find out if they stake out territory in the area, or migrate.

    I live in Stuy Town and the hawks are always hanging out there.
    I saw one devour a squirrel right outside my door.
