Fight night
Last night, some longtime residents of Avenue B projected the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight against a building on East Third Street... and people stopped to watch...
... a lot of people. Including some local firefighters...
Gothamist has a video from the scene here.
Thanks to Joon and Shutter-ed for the photos!

Wow, nice to see firefighters loafing on the job. They should be at their fire houses waiting to get sent out, not hanging out on the street watching a boxing match.
ReplyDeleteLet's all gather 'round to see a serial woman beater (Mayweather) beat up a man for a change.
When did New York become Land Of The Conformist Zombie? These people look hypnotized.
Hey, where was NYPD to disperse and arrest these crowds who were in the middle of the street blocking traffic or just congregating en masse? So it's ok to be out en masse to watch a boxing match but not to protest police brutality? What fucking bullshit.
If it is keeping money out of the grubby hands of J&J Productions and the (future) legal defense fund of Floyd Mayweather, I'm all for it.
ReplyDelete10:19am Hey I'm all for it too but let's see NYPD out there to disperse people for blocking traffic like they dispersed people for blocking traffic in Union Square.
