Let's head over to 530-532 E. Fifth St. between Avenue A and Avenue B, where this six-story, 10-unit rental is now on the market…
Here's the pitch via Cushman & Wakefield:
The building was built in 2013 using high quality, energy-efficient materials and features a virtual concierge, video security, and common roof deck with elevator service. The residential units are in excellent condition and feature chef’s kitchens, reclaimed wood flooring, oak doors, Caesarstone kitchen countertops, pre-wired alarm systems, individual temperature controls and HVAC systems (tenant expense), washers/dryers, stone tiled bathrooms, and private outdoor balconies. Additionally, units 1R and 1F have private gardens, and unit 5R has a private roof deck.
The property is only two blocks south of Tompkins Square Park and less than four blocks from the F train stop at 2nd Avenue. It is also within close proximity to popular neighborhood hot spots such as the famous Orpheum Theater, the East River Park, the Bowery Hotel, and The Standard East Village. This is an excellent opportunity for an investor to purchase a high cash flowing, low maintenance asset, or an immediate condo conversion project in the heart of the East Village.
Rentals here average about $6,200, per Streeteasy.
And the building price: $12.5 million.
Now we'll head back into the EVG archives to when the demolition started on the previous building here in November 2008…
Looked like dogshit then, looks like dogshit now. Brought to us, whether we wanted it or not, by yet another of the endless graduates of the Bottom of the Barrel School of Architecture.
ReplyDeleteThe most unusual part of this building ate the tenants. I always wonder why the "newcomers", to our community, mostly NYU kids, do not close their blinds. I am not in any way a "peeping tom", however open windows invite onlookers. You can tell who lives in the apartment by their window treatments.
ReplyDeleteWhat a dreary building. Looks like it's made of Kit Kats, if Kit Kats were made of sadness instead of chocolate.
ReplyDeleteWow that was a GREAT LINE! (I'm so stealing it)
DeleteFolks, I think I have FINALLY discovered why we are getting such shitty and UNNNNinspired architecture......these fuckers NEVER leave their rooms/offices/cubicles, so their inspiration comes from what they can physically observe....
ReplyDeleteWhat does this building look like?
How about the stack of USB portals on a computer?
Dr. Bop you are 1,000% correct - it DOES look like a stack of USB ports! OY...
ReplyDeleteLOL, this is decidedly NOT" less than four blocks from the F train stop at 2nd Avenue." This is a 10 min walk to the F.
ReplyDeleteanon at 1:57 - okay, so it's four lo-o-o-o-o-ooong blocks. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am secretly hoping nobody read the times piece about Detroit being the next stop on the L train. Just kidding, I hope every annoying boomer offspring reads it , twice.
