Well, you're out of luck if you want to participate in the actual run…
We're sold out! If you didn't make the cut, you can still cheer on participants or meet us @DoubleWideNYC for the after party at noon.

Anyway, if you're new to this, then here's an explanation via the Pizza Run website…
Starting at 11AM, participants will run four laps around the park, counterclockwise. The total distance of the race is two miles. After lap 1, lap 2, and lap 3, there will be a “pizza station” set up where participants must stop to eat a slice of pizza before they can continue with the next lap. The first person to complete the run will be crowned the NYC Pizza Run Champion!

I made the cut this year! This will be fun.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the part about "Should you hurl, you are responsible for cleaning up your own vomit"? Must be in the small print...
ReplyDeleteThis is why I love living on Tompkins Square; you never have to go far to find excitement.
ReplyDeleteAnd why not add beer, chips, and haircuts? After lap one you need to down a pint, lap two eat a bowl of taco chips with salsa. Lap three, get a haircut on 10th Street. Lap four, the most grueling, strap two slices of $1 pizza to your bare feet and flip flop one final lap.
ReplyDeleteAh, more frat parties a la LES.

ReplyDeleteI know what you are suggesting but this in not exactly Santa con with pizza. I have no problem with any group organizing some fun in the park as long as it is not destructive. We can't have post-post-post-post punk rock concerts every weekend (I hope a used enough post just then, it has been 30 years since punk was great).
I don't know about haircuts but there is a fantastic 20 dollar blow dry on 10th St.
ReplyDelete@7:30pm: Fantastic 20 dollar blowdry - WHERE on 10th Street? Need specifics, please! Seriously.
ReplyDeleteAssort Salon... Btwn A and 1st. Walk in only. Ken is my favorite.
