Gas leak closes Nino's for now
Several readers noted that the pizzeria on Avenue A at St. Mark's Place closed yesterday... the sign on the door points to a gas leak in a neighboring building as the cause.
As we understand it, Nino decided to close not to take any chances... they are hopeful that they will be able to reopen tomorrow, Saturday at the latest…

ReplyDeleteI appreciate them shutting down and being honest about the reason.
ReplyDeleteTheir pizza was better before the first closure.
ReplyDeleteNight and day. It was one of the last great NY slices.
DeleteAs of 11-5-2015. Nino's is still closed....I walk but it all the time, yest I never see a Con Ed truck or anyone working to fix this "gas leak". My guess is Nino's has closed again for good. After Nino left and sold the name to the people who took it over, the quality went downhill. When Nino, finally came back and reopened it, no one cared anymore; the damage had been done. Hell, not even the phone number was the same.
ReplyDeleteI'd be surprised to see it reopen.
