The Dunkin' Donuts on the northeast corner of First Avenue and Sixth Street shut down after the business day on Thursday... the plywood and the closed for renovation sign are up... Happy 10th birthday!? (Seems like this DD has been here longer...)
As you can see, they are closing for "less than two weeks."
In "less than two weeks", I will have found some other coffee purveyor. They will have to work real hard to get me back!
ReplyDelete[I wrote, before I looked up this website:] The only thing that make me go in is if they provided soymilk for the coffee. (Which Dunkin' corporate refuses to do, time and time again.)
ReplyDeleteApparently I've been boycotting them all these years for naught; several years ago I was part of a Facebook campaign to try and persuade them to serve soymilk for their coffee, and they flatly refused. (And I'm no longer on FB, either.)
So I guess that even though they still don't serve vegan donuts—yet!—I will go there for coffee once the plywood comes down.
Make the seating area larger otherwise I will make a permanent switch to E Houston location.
ReplyDeleteI believe there used to be a lauderette at this storefront before DnD arrived.
ReplyDeleteYes, the launderette that was on 1st just south of 6th on the west side relocated to this space in 1995. They closed in 2005. Before 1995 there was a food store there for about five years, a mini Citarella.
