Here in The Bowery District, a made-up term to help sell 64 E. First St., work is moving along quickly on the luxury condos between First Avenue and Second Avenue ...
The teaser site for the six, full-floor residences now includes interior renderings and pricing for the units.
Rounding up or down a little, the home prices vary from $3.2 to $3.9 million. (Of the three units listed, one is in contract. It's not clear if the other homes have already been called for.)
Some descriptions from the website:
With its open-plan living, kitchen and dining concept, window walls that allow abundant natural light to pour in, and ceiling heights maximized by revealing the structural beams, the interiors of 64 East are defined by an incredible sense of expansiveness.
And!
A consummation of modern innovation and sleek style, bathrooms at 64 East are an inviting haven of clean simplicity and surprising dimension, with classic design elements like subway tiles, floating cabinetry, and gleaming, all-nickel plumbing fittings with cross handles and escutcheon plates from Waterworks’ distinctive “Ludlow” collection.
And!
A stylish and welcoming open-air lounge, the rooftop terrace offers a fully-equipped outdoor kitchen and lush greenery, against the stunning backdrop of the surrounding New York cityscape.
Here's the final product...an updated rendering from the last one that we saw...
Here's more about the building's inspiration via the 64 E. First Ave. website...
The façade, with its clean lines of stone and glass, is contextual with the existing masonry structures of the neighborhood. By blending the traditional look of the window layout with decorative metal rivets, this stunning city home stylishly pays homage to the nearby iconic Williamsburg and Manhattan Bridges.

What's with the couches outside? Are they impervious to rain and other inclement weather?
ReplyDeleteThe furniture outside looks cozier than the ones inside.
These people are insane.
A lot of these apartments and condos immediately bring American Psycho to mind. No wonder there's a musical now on broadway.
can't wait for the rooftop parties and bbqs
ReplyDeleteHa ha. That's a lot of money to pay to hear the hand ball court players yell and slam a ball against a concrete slab all day long, kids screaming in the playground, and the music blaring from the Mud hut.
ReplyDeleteand did they crop those couches and chairs from a Seamans flyer?
ReplyDelete"consummation"?
ReplyDelete"contextual"?
Rolling my eyes so hard that I heard a click.
My biggest annoyance with a lot of avenue-facing buildings is the lack of ground-floor retail space. Not really an issue for street-facing, but I expect to have a more or less unbroken street wall of retail, food, etc in this neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteNot saying they should have something that applies for a liquor license, and not saying we're lacking in retail space right now, but if all new buildings going up lack retail, then you end up with very boring flyover blocks.
"Open-air lounge" = rooftop ragers. Because God knows these newbies can't fully enjoy living in the EV unless they are inconveniencing and angering the maximum number of strangers living in their privileged vicinity while they regularly and loudly get their public drunk on.
ReplyDeleteLol, damn, love the amount of hate.
ReplyDeleteNow my turn, 3.5... Yeah... Oh...
I like casement windows, but I do not like these prices. A shame the new transparency in LLC condo purchasing rule is just for tax revenue, and doesn't limit foreign purchasing at all.
ReplyDelete@Anon 9:12 - exactly. And that is why all those things will be eliminated once the wealthy take over.
ReplyDeleteTwo things.
ReplyDelete@7:30AM - American Psycho is not on Broadway. In fact it isn't even in previews.
@10:09AM - This building is not on an avenue. It is on a side street.
American Psycho the musical = Bret Easton Ellis milking his past for all it's worth and him unable to write a novel anymore.
ReplyDeleteHis last one was a sequel to Less Than Zero. Sad.
