To the Dancefest organizers: I know it must be a lot of work organizing the parade and performances. Next year please don't have the giant balloons and monster speakers blocking the main stage, so we can enjoy the show.
I hate to endorse anything, well you know why, however, the Dance Parade is a great celebration of diversity. This is something we have lost around here due to the real estate ravaging slimes. The event brings out a diverse group of long time area residents including children and seniors from all over the neighborhood. More like the Mermaid Parade and the Drag Parade, it harkens back to the time when our park and neighborhood was filled with eccentric diverse people, which isn't the case anymore.
The snotty shit mob that dominates the area now have no interest in this event, as it doesn't have anything to do with them. I saw them on the outskirts walking with their little bags seemingly irritated that the parade was stealing their thunder.
I would just like to point out that the Halloween Dog Parade is nothing like the Dance Parade, as it floods the streets with yuppies from all around the world. They come here to do brunch and carry on about how fabulous everything is. The Halloween Dog Parade expands every year, is marketed internationally, and boils down to another branding and marketing campaign for the lux real estate industry.
if you don't see the difference between the two events then you are shallow.

The Dance Parade was too diverse and ethnic for the newbies, tourists, and transients. It is an offense and a threat to their vanilla existence.
ReplyDelete@ 9:35 A.M. Thanks for straightening me out. Halloween Dog Parade = Evil. Dance Parade = Good. I wouldn't have known from attending both events.
