The Neptune's new breakfast special to go on 1st Avenue



The always-reliable Neptune diner on First Avenue has a new to-go breakfast special... and in this era of the $12 breakfast bagel, it's a good deal... an EVG reader shared this photo, which points out the specials, such as two eggs on a roll with coffee or tea for $2.50. The priciest item appears to be a Western omelette with cheese on a roll for $4.50.

The Neptune is at 194 First Ave. between East 11th Street and East 12th Street.

    this is a chance to keep one of the last long time mom and pop stores in the neighborhood.
    they recently renewed their lease (i'm sure with a substantial increase).
    they are pleasant and do not rush you out the door.

    Really great potato pancakes, pierogeis, blintzas. They have good specials and lots of vegetables and vegetarian items, Polish beer, and it's fun and comfortable.

    White borscht and smoked trout with cucumber salad?!? Yes please! Love Neptune, loved it when it was KK's too, but Neptune put in that great garden. What blue glass said - eat at Neptune!

    Neptune's garden out back is a great place to enjoy some hot pierogies and a cold bottle of Żywiec in the summer. Lots of great food, soups and vegetarian options, and the best potato pancakes in the village. Eat at Neptune!

    Teresa's has been in Brooklyn Heights for several years; I think they saw the writing on the wall and got out of the East Village while they could. According to Yelp, they're well-loved—and not that far away.

    Eat at Neptune! One of the last survivors of Polish neighborhood restaurants. Unbeatable early prix fixe dinner -(under $20 for soup or salad, huge entree, glass of wine, dessert and coffee or tea). So glad they resigned their lease. The haven't raised their prices. Veselka's too slick for me.
