This whole f*cking project is nothing but a transfer of taxpayer dollars to the Triumph Construction Company. In the 36 years I've lived here, there was never a problem with traffic on 4th and 5th Streets and The Bowery. I think this was initiated by Bloomberg and continued by the weasel DeBlasio.
As far as traffic on 4th and 5th is concerned, it's true that there was no problem there, but that was because of the way Astor Place was constructed. With the changes being made, there *would be* problems on 4th and 5th, and it's better to fix them now than 30 years from now.
Your remarks and lively debates are welcome, whether supportive or critical of the views herein. Your articulate, well-informed remarks that are relevant to an article are welcome.
However, commentary that is intended to "flame" or attack, that contains violence, racist comments and potential libel will not be published. Facts are helpful.
If you'd like to make personal attacks and libelous claims against people and businesses, then you may do so on your own social media accounts. Also, comments predicting when a new business will close ("I give it six weeks") will not be approved.
This is actually the third victim, the first two were the EV's identity and soul.
