  2. I have not much problem with the game itself but whoo boy it is embarrassing seeing all these people and businesses and media outlets falling over themselves trying to be a part of it.

  4. Even the crusties are getting in on the action - I saw one guy with a sign with an arrow pointing to his genitals with the words "Poki-this-mon"

  5. I'm not patronizing a restaurant that advertises its participation in this stupidity. That is all.

Today I saw two idiots in the middle of the street with their little devices. I yelled "Are you stupid fucking idiots on Pokemon?" They not only moved, but they actually looked embarrassed. They must have been in their late 20's

  10. In a year of really dumb things becoming wildly popular, this has got to be the dumbest of them all. This is what happens when half the population's IQ goes into remission. What the world really needs is an app that shows people how to take their heads out of their asses.

  11. When I read this on Wikipedia, I thought of the comments here. This game could probably help a lot of you.

"It has been suggested that Pokémon Go can potentially improve the mental and physical health of players suffering from depression and social anxiety. The social nature of the game provides easy avenues for those with social anxiety to interact with people of all backgrounds. Numerous players also reported increased motivation to exercise and improved moods. "

  12. @9:37 am Right, because there's nothing more socially well adjusted than posting passive aggressive trolls like yours. Ironically, every commenter here sees the stupidity of the Pokemon craze except for you. So whose the outlier? Thanks for the "help," now go get some help for yourself.

  13. "At a rally on Thursday, Mrs. Clinton talked about the game phenomenon, saying 'I don’t know who created ‘Pokemon Go,’ but I’ve tried to figure out how we get them to have Pokémon go to the polls.'"

  14. Anonymous 12:31, For me to be an outlier, we need to deal with the universe of possibilities, not a sample. On the larger scale, the commenters here are the outliers. The first step to recovery is recognizing the problem.

And it's "who's the outlier?" not "whose".

We don't need no stinkin' "easy avenues".

  16. @2:29pm. If you don't like it move back to whatever alien planet you came from. Do your fellow aliens also waste all their time commenting on blogs where they don't like the commenters, or is it just you? #SpecialSnowflake #Brotastic

  17. 9:37, I guess it's nice if Pokemon Go alleviates depression or social anxiety -- seriously, not being flippant -- but here's the thing: so would going to a museum, or spending the day in a park, or volunteering, if said benefits are specifically derived from social interaction and mild exercise. All of things I mentioned are free and mind-enriching, and are not nearly as self-involved as a points-gathering game. And they don't cause anyone to foolishly stare at a device in the middle of pedestrian (or, god forbid, vehicular) traffic, or wander on to private property, or expose their personal digital data to god knows who.

Plus a lot of people playing this game are really obnoxious and I'm tired of riding the elevator at my office building with people well into their thirties loudly yapping about the damn thing every morning. You must see how it is annoying, at least

  18. Hey 2:28pm (sore loser Bernie Sanders supporter) give it a rest with inserting Hillary Clinton in every post.

FYI she got plllenty of people to the polls to the tunes of millions of more votes than any presidential candidate, and that was just the primary election.

It's gonna be fun watching her destroy TrumPence minimum 332-206 (repeat of 2012) if not 343-195 (she wins IN cuz of Pence), 347-191 (she loses IN but wins NC), or 358-180 (she wins both.) Tack on 6 electoral votes to any of those as she's gonna win Utah (Mormons who think Trump is a lewd, rude, crude bigmouth who picked Pence to pander to them and the religious right which he did.)

  19. Jyeezuz.

Life is short. Summer's hot. People fortunate enough to be living and affording to live here, chill ze phuck out.

Play the damn game while it's free, it's fun. Or go somewhere and drink, then have sex afterwards, that's fun, too!

  20. If we exert this level of energy for something mornprofuctive, this world could be such a better, safer, harmonious place unlike all the depressive events that occurred around the globe this past few weeks.

  21. Anonymous 4:55, You're right about museums, parks, volunteering, etc. The thing is, for people who suffer from social anxiety, these options already exist, but they don't help. All I'm saying is that this game works for them, and that museums, parks, volunteering, etc. clearly do not work for the commenters here who have no problem condemning the people who play this as wasting their time, but don't see that they're doing the same thing.
