[Photo Thursday morning by Derek Berg]
On Thursday morning, someone abandoned the dog in the above photo in the Tompkins Square Park dog run...
Several residents called Social Tees on Fifth Street, and their director Samantha Brody was there within 10 minutes. Social Tees took the dog to the vet ... and had him groomed...
Social Tees provided an update on the dog, named Bolt...
This is incredible. Kind people do exist. I know this might piss people off, but in a way, this was meant to be. This little dog was meant to be rescued, cleaned up, groomed, and set up for a new family who will love and take care of him. I truly believe that. There is so much good in the world and this act clearly represents that. I hope this little guy finds a home where he is the happiest and most content than he has ever been. :)
ReplyDeleteThis made my day - applause to all who had a hand in this!
ReplyDeleteHappy story. There will be no shortage of would be adopters for the sweet young pup. He looks a lot less rock and roll now though with that dorky haircut.
ReplyDeleteawesome
ReplyDeleteSocial Tees rocks. Great place to adopt or foster.
ReplyDeleteTwo of my cats are from Social Tees. They really do do God's work and I just sent them a donation for their help in saving Bolt.
ReplyDelete'Looking sharp Bolt, look-ing sharp ;)
ReplyDeleteYour loss POS who abandoned him.
We're long overdue for mandatory microchipping!
Social Tees should hang flyers around the dog park letting people know Bolt is happy and healthy. Whoever left this little guy might want to know he's now in good hands. Yes, he/she is still a POS.
ReplyDeleteWe are fostering Bolt until he finds his forever home. He is just as sweet as can be -- calm, well-behaved, and an expert level snuggler. I'm in awe that someone would abandon this little guy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rubie, for fostering, and thank you, Social Tees and groomers, for awesomeness.
ReplyDeletePeople can be such dicks, and people can be wonderful.
YEA!
ReplyDeleteI've got to add one thing. Many dogs raised by 'homeless people" are very well mannered because of the constant attention. Of course not all, but many. Bolt sounds like a good soul and while dirty, it sounds like he was at least around some love or he would be afraid of being touched!
ReplyDeleteDon't let them convince you that you're a crazy pup.....
ReplyDeleteYou sane Bolt!
Such a sweetheart
ReplyDeleteOh, DrBOP, I guess you just had to take that joke and run with it!
ReplyDeleteCuuuute!!
ReplyDeleteWhere's all the people who were defending the absolute prick who abandoned this poor sweet dog?
ReplyDeleteIs Bolt still available for adoption?
