Post, a new cafe, opens on Avenue B
Back in the fall of 2015, we heard that a new cafe was in the works for 42 Avenue B between Third Street and Fourth Street.
In recent weeks it looked as if the place was getting ready to open... The cafe, called Post, debuted last week. EVG reader @Jason_Chatfield shared these photos from yesterday...
The menu shows several varieties of biscuits for breakfast ... as well as coffee and tea...
Lunch and dinner are coming soon, per the Post website.
And we don't know too much else about Post at the moment. (Updated: Gothamist has more on Post here.)
The address was previously home to Coyi Cafe, which closed in January 2014 after five years in business.

Can't imagine myself sitting at that counter with those tall stools, although a biscuit to go might be good.
ReplyDeleteThe decor is beautiful. Unlike the other commenter, I can imagine myself sitting at the counter and taking in and appreciating the minimalism and cleanliness of the space. We need more cafes like this. Can't wait to visit it!

ReplyDeleteagreed. A Sausage biscuit for $10? I get you have to pay the rent but no, I'll pass and stick with the good old bodega bacon, egg and cheese specials for a few bucks.
ReplyDeleteI would like to wish the owners well. It looks like they've made a sincere effort on the decor. I'm willing to bet that they've calculated a very small profit margin and have priced items that way. When you calculate: rent, utilities, taxes, salaries, insurance, and whatever and then figure in cost of materials they are probably just making it. Of course, if you isolate the cost of materials for the biscuit all by itself it seems outlandish--but when you have a business all of these other factors must be calculated in. Good luck to them.

ReplyDeleteHoly s**T, THAT was a great Sunday brunch. I had a meal that was prepared with a lot of care. Small brunch menu, but that's all ya really need, cause of the quality and attention to detail. Love.
ReplyDeleteThe food is exceptional and the price is very reasonable. The sausage biscuit w gravy is incredible. The Bloody Mary is one of the best I have ever had.
