Express Thali pulls into 2nd Avenue
On Thursday, a reader shared the above photo ... workers removing the sign for the now-closed Golden Crepes restaurant on Second Avenue between Fourth Street and Fifth Street...
Signage was up Friday for the new tenant — Express Thali, which will be serving "pure vegetarian Indian cuisine," per the sign...

Golden Crepes opened in late 2014... it took over from the Turkish restaurant 7 Spices.

I miss Mission Cafe.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know the status of the building to the north? The old suit and stuff that was in the second floor window has been removed.
I think the owners won't sell. That is the "murder" building.
ReplyDeleteIt is the murder building, but Express Thali is really good. Ate there Sunday night (live around the corner). Incredible value for price, nice people, delicious food. Will become a take-out staple if price/quality stay the same past the opening weeks.
ReplyDeleteNew gem in the east village! Dined here last week and the food is exactly what they say- Authentic indian cuisine! Will definitely be going back for more.
