Your remarks and lively debates are welcome, whether supportive or critical of the views herein. Your articulate, well-informed remarks that are relevant to an article are welcome.
However, commentary that is intended to "flame" or attack, that contains violence, racist comments and potential libel will not be published. Facts are helpful.
If you'd like to make personal attacks and libelous claims against people and businesses, then you may do so on your own social media accounts. Also, comments predicting when a new business will close ("I give it six weeks") will not be approved.
In a famous correspondence between George Orwell and Aldous Huxley, Huxley asserted that while Orwell gave it the old college try, Huxley's vision of the future was the more prescient. He's right, of course; the overt brutality depicted in Orwell's vision is becoming more and more unnecessary in a scientific dictatorship. There's no need for boots stomping on faces forever when diets, injections and injunctions will socialize people into accepting their servitude as not just inevitable but desirable. The acculturation of people to circumstances they ought not to accept is already galloping apace and there's nothing any of you can do to stop it. Forward!
