Astor Place Shake Shack going for a beer-wine license
Just a quick follow-up about the 3,000-square-foot Shake Shack coming this fall to the empty retail space at 51 Astor Place/the IBM Watson Building/Death Star...
Team Shack is on the June CB3-SLA committee docket for a beer-wine license for the space...
Select Shacks Shacks serve ShackMeister® Ale, "otherwise known as the ShackBurger’s best friend." It's made in collaboration with Brooklyn Brewery, per the Shacksite. As for wine, Shack Red® and Shack White® by Frog's Leap is available by the glass or bottle.
We'll look at other items on the CB3-SLA docket next week ahead of the meeting on June 12.

This is something I am sure the NYU (and Cooper Union and other area colleges) are going to go crazy for. Too bad it is in the Death Star, the most depressing and offensive edifice in the city.
ReplyDeleteis there a business on 3rd ave which does not have a license to sell alcohol?
ReplyDeleteWhen is the entrance to 10 Cloverfield Lane opening? That tool shed has been sitting dormant and weird looking for two months now?
ReplyDeleteSo where do you think people will be beer in all of those plastic cups? Under The Cube? And that Shake Shack wine is $8-$9 a glass for a 3oz pour. In other words, $9 for a shot of wine. Or you can get 3 bottles of 3 Buck Chucks at Trader Joe's and have a small party. This is not a difficult choice.
ReplyDeleteI love Shake Shack as much as the next person, but their signature drink is shakes, not booze.
ReplyDeleteThis is just depressing. I'd trade every Shake Shack for the old Stage. And for gods sake don't let them sell booze!
