Turntable 5060 has been closed of late here on Avenue B at Fourth Street.
Two signs on the door note that they are "under renovation." There aren't any new work permits on file at the DOB to note any work in the space.
And there is a handwritten sign on the door that reads...
Hey guys!
We are sad to say that we are closed today for repairs!
If you're craving friend chicken, just come to our K-town location! 20 W33rdSt.
There isn't any notice about a temporary closure on their website or social media properties.
The restaurant serving Korean-style fried chicken and craft beers opened in July 2015. The 33rd Street location mentioned on the note just opened last month.
They have excellent fried chicken and their lunch special was a steal, but they weren't on the brunch and lunch crowds radar. Good for us but not good for business.
ReplyDeleteThis place has been closed for some time. I past by it over a week ago and it was completely dark inside during a Sat night. Def not a good sign, but not surprised.
ReplyDeletehad no idea why this place was, the facade looked like a deconstructed pirate ship I never looked inside.
ReplyDeletebeen going to the original location on 5th ave for year, amazing chicken. guess the ave B location never caught on.
ReplyDeleteStill miss Kate's. What a waste, to lose all of these popular local businesses for something that never catches on, leaving neighborhoods with all these empty storefronts. (I know, I know, it's nothing new.)
ReplyDeleteIt was obvious it would close. I always felt bad, I wish I could've just told the owners "if you open, you will close". Once I saw it was always empty I knew I was right.
