You may now enter and exit Tompkins Square Park at 8th Street and Avenue B

Two months-plus after the sinkhole began to sink... the entrance/exit is back in use.

  1. Step right up and see the only NYC park with its own black hole!

Seriously, *that's* what we wind up with after all these months? Talk about pride in your craft...

  2. I don't like the way park is set up. It needs to be opened up and the ugly pavement that's all over the park needs to be replaced by gravell. It was set up in that way in the riot days and those days are long gone. It could be a nice place if it was designed better.

  3. everyone's talking about how this park can be better and after all that. I mean c'mon what did you expect from a park that is built on top of a cemetery. lol

  4. @2:32 - you may be thinking of Washington Square Park. Tompkins was never a cemetery, but it was a salt marsh before it was a park.

  5. Too bad the sinkhole didn't swallow up all the crusties and other fake, seasonal homeless.

  6. If felt so weird walking through the opened gates, I thought I might find Alice hovering near the ginko.
