Among the Good Santa-Bad Santa events taking place on Dec. 9 ...
The 9th Annual Cookie Walk is set for Dec. 9-10 at St. Nicholas of Myra Orthodox Church on Avenue A and 10th Street (find more details here)...
--
Also on Dec. 9 — SantaCon... the location hasn't been disclosed yet, though the East Village is always a good possibility as the host...
I'm getting in line now!
ReplyDeleteAre Santa Con and Cookie Walk collaborating? That would be wild. Santa Cons drunk on cookies!
ReplyDeleteHey hey Larry love your santa beard but what are those green and purple sprinkles doing around your nose?
Not appropriate to collaborate between the 2 events, and don't think they ever will. The people who run the Cookie Walk ensure that this event is appropriate for all ages and that families do not have to worry about children being exposed to drunk Santas. It is an event where volunteers open up the doors to the Community and bring joy to so many people. It is an atmosphere filled with love and joy.
DeleteFirst, Cookie Walk is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSecond, Santa Con of course will land in the EV as it does every year, I hope newly re-elected Mayor De Blasio comes here the next day with a bucket and mop to clean up the body fluids.
Will the Crusties be participating in Santa Con? It's so hard to tell after about 10am on the actual day...
ReplyDeleteThe Cookie Walk is one of the best events in the neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteCookies for Santa ? Great.
ReplyDeleteAlcohol for Santa ? Groan.
Yay, Cookie Walk!
ReplyDeleteBooo, Santa Con!
Love the walk, hate the con.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like someone already dipped into the sugar cookies.
ReplyDeleteThe cookie walk is great. Santa con is both a shit and a freak show of belligerent drunks, sorority girls, and entitled bros . No thanks.
ReplyDeleteHo Ho Ho Barf barf barf it’s that wonderful time of year...
ReplyDelete@4:48pm: Ah, but those "belligerent drunks, sorority girls, and entitled bros" are the "future" of NYC.
ReplyDeleteThey'll be populating all the glassy office towers of the "Tech Hub."
High time for a cage match (or, more appropriately 'pissing contest'): Crusties vs. Santacon!
ReplyDeleteRemember, "Penmanship" counts !
Such a role model for our kids re route it to Central Park
ReplyDeleteBest event not only for those living in the area, but for all those in the TriState area. Great event with a great group of people running it. Can’t wait and passing the word around.
ReplyDeleteSaw the sign go up the other day announcing the Cookie Walk. I will be sure to get there early. Saturday is the day to get there because there may not be much left by Sunday. It is the best thing that has come to the Lower East Side. The prices for the boxes are a bargain, and if you know how to pack the cookies, you get a real bargain based on the price per pound in NYC. It is a great gift for family, neighbors and even co-workers. Just a warning - if you go in and purchase a small container, you may be tempted to buy a cup of hot chocolate at their hot chocolate bar (the best I've ever had), open up your container of cookies, have a seat at the tables at polish off your cookies. I have done this and wound up buying another container plus a large box. Can't wait - counting the days.
