Lovenburg, a fast-food burger joint based in Antalya, Turkey, is coming to the United States, opening its first outpost at 328 E. Sixth St. between First Avenue and Second Avenue.
Lovenburg promises a variety of "homemade natural burgers" ...
I don't read Turkish, so I can't tell from the blurb what kind of meat they use. Anyone? (Turkey has a huge stray dog problem, so I hope this isn't a Sweeney Todd-esque scenario.)
This is what it says in terms of the meat they use (my translation as a native Turkish speaker):
Lovenburger's patty is 100% natural minced meat, mix of spices and garlic, and is served with Lovenburger's special sauce (tomoto paste water and spice mix.)
Have never visited a Lovenburger in Yurkey, so can't say anything about its quality. That said, when you get away from the usual chains, basic Turkish buffets tend to do a good job with burgers, so the possibility of a good product is certainly there.

Either Chopped Lamb or Chopped Camel. My Turkish isn't as good as it used to be.
ReplyDeleteI’m dismayed by the dog meat/camel meat comments, which I would not expect from my EV neighbors.
