Another look at the NW corner of 2nd Avenue and 7th Street

Here are two more partial-reveal views of the 7-floor condoplex building on the gas explosion site on Second Avenue at Seventh Street...

This is a follow-up to our post from yesterday morning. You can find all the background about this project and its history at this link.

I’ve seen a few sweaters in that same pattern as this building.

Not as bad as it could have been... But where's the cornice that appeared on the renderings? Does that come later?

It's looks like a penthouse setback will be added, so no cornice. This is very different from the rendering, which is how they got this approved so quickly. The original looks lovely; this not so.

Like everyone said, they should be required to put in the main architectural element that made people accept this building! The cornice! A bait and switch of removing it and then adding in a penthouse to the design is both dishonest and ugly.
I genuinely wonder how developers get away with removing elements that are key to the deign.

I *guess* it's still possible that they're building it .... but I highly highly doubt it.

Does anyone know if the former tenants are going to have an opportunity to move back into any of these units?

Ugly and sad.
