Today in ads for Zipcar on Astor Place
A reader shared the above photo from Astor Place this morning... showing a car under what's meant to be a mound of snow (remember when it used to snow here in the winter?)
Here's a closer look at what turns out to be an ad for Zipcar... here are photos via EVG Zipcar Ad Correspondent Steven ... showing some details on the snowbank...
Noticeably missing — a design by one of the many Penistrators ...

Such weird advertisement concept in the middle of this warm/ no snow NYC winter
ReplyDeleteDumb, just dumb.
ReplyDeleteThis is actually pretty funny.... haha... eye catching for sure!
ReplyDeleteNot dumb, just a clever advertising gimmick. Lighten up people.
ReplyDeletePizza Rat! Priceless!
ReplyDeleteAnd there is Infinite Jest, one of the most boring novels of all time.
ReplyDeleteIJ boring? Je ne sais quoi! I wish it never ended.
DeleteFar as ads go, this is not that obnoxious, kind of cute even. Would've been funnier back in the old days though. In 2020, instead of making me think about easy-to-access rental cars, this ad makes me think about... the climate :(
ReplyDeleteThe problem with zip car in Manhattan is that you can "share" a car for two hours but where can go you without a traffic and parking nightmare?
ReplyDeleteWow, Pizza Rat and the Greek coffee cup, so local! So clever! They really get us locals, must be one of us, too. I'd definitely use zip car. (Ugh, no one likes a try-hard.)
ReplyDeleteI like this more than "Star Girl"!
