The 1st Avenue fruit cart has departed
The fruit-vegetable vendors here on First Avenue and Sixth Street outside Village View packed up and left last night. (H/T Janet!)
Noticed yesterday afternoon that they had an ample supply of produce. Were people just not buying any?

This sucks. I love that cart and the guys who operate it. I certainly hope they will return when this madness ends.
ReplyDeleteMan I was hoping he'd stay. Maybe he was being cautious?
ReplyDeleteSame here. The prices were good, the stock was good, the convenience was great. They have been here year-round, so it's surprising they left now. They were nice guys. Hope they come back!!
ReplyDeleteThey had a steady stream of business. Maybe it was to protect the vendors from having close contact with customers.
ReplyDeleteThey seemed pretty crowded to me all the time. Probably being cautious.
ReplyDeleteI bought the last package of raspberries. I wish them well and look forward to their return when this mess is over.
ReplyDeleteWHY?????
ReplyDeleteVery likely because temperatures dropped to freezing last night and will be again tonight. Hopefully, they'll be back on Monday.
