Clay Pot won't be returning to St. Mark's Place

Clay Pot's tenure at 58 St. Mark’s Place has officially come to an end, management confirmed via an Instagram message.

The restaurant, which served Hong Kong style open-flame cooked clay pot rice, opened here between First Avenue and Second Avenue in February 2018. It had been closed since the COVID-19 PAUSE. Their Bleecker Street outpost remains in service.

Per the rep: "St. Mark's Place will always have a place in our hearts."

  3. Natori delivery bento box dinners were some of the greatest meals I had in my old shoebox apartment in the east village. Helped me heal from a broken ankle and heartbreak.

  4. Places such as this catered to the transplants, tourists, college students -- i.e., in the neighborhood temporarily, not assimilating or contributing to the community. And now that their main customers aren't here, have bolted to their comfy and safe suburban havens, they now have to close.
