I wish more people would join the East Village/Alphabet City Buy Nothing facebook group, which helps reduce stuff like this that goes to landfills. I got a free microwave there from someone who was about to move out, along with a lot of other stuff. And I got to meet some neighbors, including one across the street.
I would love to be part of a buy nothing group but will not sign in to FB. Is there any other platform that can be used ? In the meantime I will keep using the free stuff section on craigslist
Your remarks and lively debates are welcome, whether supportive or critical of the views herein. Your articulate, well-informed remarks that are relevant to an article are welcome.
However, commentary that is intended to "flame" or attack, that contains violence, racist comments and potential libel will not be published. Facts are helpful.
If you'd like to make personal attacks and libelous claims against people and businesses, then you may do so on your own social media accounts. Also, comments predicting when a new business will close ("I give it six weeks") will not be approved.
Best selling line ever!
ReplyDeleteAin't it the truth.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, there's no good substitute for a microwave if you eat a lot of leftovers.
