Thanksgiving weekend in review: SantaCon canceled; Max Fish finished at 120 Orchard St.

    Also: on Sunday in Washington Square Park, a group of about 75 anti lockdown protestors waving a giant Trump flag and Covid conspiracy signs burned masks in front of the park fountain. Nearby, a guy with a giant speaker loudly blasted the rap anthem, “Fuck Donald Trump.”

    Among the impending inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in January as being the best part of this wicked, dreadful year, knowing Santa Con has also been canceled is like having a big, sweet cherry and crushed nuts on top of your already delicious sundae. No drunken bros wreaking havoc on our communities. Music to my ears.

    By no means supporting SantaCon, but SantaCon provides an outlet for bored suburban kids who don't want to visit the city during the holidays and go traditional because their hometowns are the same.

    Cities like NYC would be inherently cheaper to live if we had more housing thus more competition generating lower rental prices and outlying suburban areas that can replicate the cities with things that people find attractive like cool amenities such as diverse restaurants, organic markets and public square events.
