So sad - it was in full bloom!
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for the same thing to happen to the tree angled at 45 degrees in front of Porto rico Coffee - 40 St. Mark's Place.
ReplyDeleteSo sad. A tree was taken down on 7th St between 1st and 2nd Avenue yesterday
ReplyDeleteWTF? That is not an elderly tree!
ReplyDeleteLooks like asphalt was placed on the tree base which cut off water and oxygen to the root system. The yearly spring growth hormones allow the tree to get as tall as possible but the roots probably died off and started to rot.
ReplyDeleteSo many trees are gone in this neighborhood. Sad news.
