A lobby note on 7th Street

An EVG reader shared this note from a lobby in a building along Seventh Street... where a resident is asking neighbors about a missing delivery — an air conditioner.

The resident added on to the original note, stating that the A/C was left in the vestibule.

In answer to the question, Anyone know what happened to it? ... someone else wrote:
Well, let's see...
• A big box with the words "air conditioner" all over it
• Visible from the street on a hot day
-- Maybe aliens beamed it up?

  1. Any package that clearly states what's inside needs to be accepted at delivery. Otherwise goodbye...

  2. It's not funny to have your property stolen. Too bad this happens to residents of the EV every day. Tenants without video intercoms just buzz anyone in without question. I never let anyone in unless they tell me who they are and who they are delivering to.....even then I remain cautious.

  6. The person who wrote the snarky stickie note is a jerk. I have had air conditioners and other heavy items delivered and left on the ground floor while I wait for someone to help me carry them up. Older people or people with health conditions might be left waiting a lot longer. The heat is brutal right now. This person is likely suffering without the ac. Instead of making fun of the poster, why didn't the person writing the stickie note do something to help? Like maybe get together with other neighbors to help this person.

  8. Stealing a new a/c in the box out of a random lobby is kind of a big deal - you aren't running around the corner, ripping open the box and stuffing the goods in your backpack!

There had to have been a vehicle there.

Was the original delivery vehicle being followed?

  9. I've had Walmart boxes that either never arrived or were stolen. My orders weren't as expensive as an AC, but I did call Walmart and they replaced the orders. Worth a call.

  13. I wonder if the tenant has called the police. Maybe this building or one across the street or next door has a security camera and the person or people who stole the ac can be identified.
