As previously reported, the four-plus-year-old cafe that serves a variety of comfort food and cocktails was moving to this larger space from 42 Avenue B between Third Street and Fourth Street.
For now, Post is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Dinner hours to come!) You can find a menu here. And their Instagram here.
The last tenant in the retail space was the cocktail bar Corlear's NYC, which closed in early 2017. The address was immortalized in Lizzy Goodman's 2017 oral history, "Meet Me in the Bathroom: Rebirth and Rock and Roll in New York City 2001-2011," when it was the Plant Bar, the hangout for James Murphy and DFA Records and a lot of other people in the book.
Nice people and good food. I am surprised they’d be comfortable at that location with the obnoxious insanity and noise going on across the street, but I’m sure they wanted to be close to their other spot. Best of luck.
ReplyDeleteYou can't really hear the noise from 3rd and B at the location where the new Post is. It was more of an issue at their old location, frankly.
ReplyDeleteI HAVE BEEN MISSING BISCUITS AND GRAVY WITH CHICKEN SAUSAGE FOR A LONG TIME
ReplyDelete@glenn good but you can hear Poco from a mile away especially these days, sadly

ReplyDeletePoco is loud and a blight on the EV but once you get mid-block on 3rd street toward C (where Post is), you can't really hear it that much, especially if you're indoors. I live across the street and a bit further east from where the new Post is (been there for 30 years) and I can't hear the Poco obnoxiousness, thank god. Maybe I'm losing my hearing? :-D
