Surgery went well and Karen is getting a little better every day. Once she is fully healed we will start chemotherapy and hopefully kick cancer out of sight!
You can help support the March Hare by keeping the store in mind with any holiday needs. The shop's hours are posted as 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 321 E. Ninth St. You might want to call ahead: (646) 422-7747.
There's also a crowdfunding campaign to help the couple pay for medical and living expenses. You can find that link here.
As McDermott wrote in a GoFundMe update:
The outpouring of love I have received through this has been beyond overwhelming, I am so thankful and happy to have known such kindness in my life.
EV Grieve, thank you for doing what you are doing. This neighborhood has a great sense of community, camaraderie and solidarity. And you help tremendously to tbis. I wish this lady prompt recovery and a long life the her, her family, and business.
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you for this. I miss Dinosaur Hill and am so happy to have The March Hare on our block. I don't have many opportunities to buy children's gifts and would never have known of Karen's needs if not for your blog. Good work, thanks again.
ReplyDeleteLove them, I still miss Dinosaur Hill but I do love The March Hare!I did early shopping for the little ones.
ReplyDeleteThis wonderful shop deserves our support: shop local!
ReplyDeleteAm also contributing to Karen's gofundme, a truly worthy cause, IMO.
KAREN, I'm wishing you well, always, and I hope you will recover to the very best of good health!
This store is a treasure. As a child care professional I meet many parents in the neighborhood. I mention this establishment often. (Stock more items related to the younger children- 0-3)
