Some happy campers on 10th Street now as NYPD relocates RV

The camper that had been parked on 10th Street east of First Avenue is no longer on the block.

Updated 11:30 a.m.

The NYPD explains what happened in a tweet... As noted here, some unhappy residents who lived nearby painted messages outside (and on) the camper late last week with directives such as "move" ... "leave" ... and "Camper time to go."

Those messages remain on the sidewalk.

So who's gonna clean up the paint?

I hope the blue spray paint vandals are caught and made to clean up their mess.

Awesome. Now do the other 50 cars in the East Village like this and fine the people who spray painted the side walk. Oh and fine all of the other people constantly tagging our neighborhood.

Towing this guy’s vehicle was cruel. He did nothing illegal. Rich people don’t pay taxes and this guy gets kicked when he’s down. Terrible.

Just glad they haven't touched the 1000's advertising pods up and down the avenues with their sensors and cameras on public land.

yup, that blue paint is the end of the world.

Imagine if it didn't take a social media post and spray paint to do anything about it!

I'm absolutely horrified by the blue paint. I mean i've never been so offended. The nerve!

Seriously! You are "horrified" by the blue paint ? Ha - open your eyes and take a look around the neighborhood. Almost everything is tagged and the people who do it are never caught...

@9:23- Do you know what sarcasm is?

Some questions: Did anyone ever call the local precinct and complain? Or the DOT? Didn't the van get weekly summonses on alternate side of the street parking?
And really if it took the sidewalk graphics to get the van out of there mazel tov! Okay so let the writers paint over the message with gray spray paint. And yes there is graffiti all over the East Village so really what's the big deal?

I am offering a $50 reward for anyone who helps the police arrest the blue paint criminal.I also suggest that they should move and leave the area before they are arrested and charged with vandalism and threats to another person.

There is graffiti everywhere. I doubt anyone found guilty of grafitti has to pay a $50 dollar fine.

The Precinct didn’t tow his RV it says they found the owner, explained the RV can’t be parked there and the owner relocated it to private property. I assume he had it towed because it doesn’t drive.

The city did tow the vehicle. I know the owner. He does drive and he does have a driver’s license. But asking him to relocate to private property? If this poor guy had private property he wouldn’t be in this predicament
