The window displays at Blue Door Video

Goggla let us know that the scaffolding/sidewalk bridge came down late last week at 87 First Ave. between Fifth Street and Sixth Street... which once again provides unobstructed views of the window displays at Blue Door Video ...
The shop continues to attract tourists, families and fashion enthusiasts to watch the unveiling of the window displays ... which radiate the same classic New York elegance that the Blue Door embodies.
And, as Eden pointed out, the details really make the displays, as DC Comics regular Superman is shown in a thirst trap ... and maybe more...

  4. Yep, I live a few blocks down -- I love walking by there. I haven't been in for a few years, they actually had a pretty awesome collection of crazy ass VHS tapes (non-porn, if that's not your thing) that made me think of Kims back in the day.

  5. What kind of crazy ass tapes that are not porn? I totally miss KIms. Loved to go there late on Saturday afternoon and load up on old tapes. I still have a VHS player.

  6. I love the window displays! They have provided endless entertainment over the years. I look for changes daily as I live in the building. They have taken on an added superhero theme lately which is a delightful accompaniment to the mystery of Blue Door Video.

And bonus, I live in the building so I get to identify where I live as the building with the porn store. So fun!
