A shot from a very busy Saturday at East Village Meat Market... one of the neighborhood's longtime Ukrainian-owned businesses... find them at 139 Second Ave. between St. Mark's Place and Ninth Street.
Great place for fresh meat. Professionals par excellence. Fair prices, polite employees and just a nice place to shop. You will feel like you stepped back in time to the good old days.
One of the few Ukrainian and Polish places left in the hood. Like all of the Ukrainian and Polish joints, the people there are warm and wonderful. Much more civilized than us born and bred new yorkers.
