According to the signs, the nonprofit that rescues cats and puts them up for adoption has lost its lease.
We don't know any more than what's posted on the signs.
You can stop by the shop at 430 E. Ninth St. or email cats@mightymutts.org for more details.
Ollie's arrived here in 2011.
Thanks to Kait for the photo... and to William Klayer for also sharing the news.
Devastating news :(

This breaks my heart. I hope they are placed in loving homes.
ReplyDeleteJust awful. I got my beloved cat there and loved the setup. The owner was a bit difficult in the home visit/approval process, but that’s another story.
ReplyDeleteFirst Good Beer and now Ollie’s? What’s going on on this block?
ReplyDeleteSame old story of commercial landlords pillaging neighborhoods for their own gain?
Another option is Brooklyn Cat Cafe- they are an incredible non profit that truly loves cats. I’m so sad about Ollies. They were careful in screening prospective adoptive families and had a lot of heart in their mission. I’d take one if I didn’t already have an adopted kitty.

“ Koneko’s mission is to find loving homes for cats pulled from the city’s “at-risk” list by our partner, Anjellicle Cats Rescue. ”
I really wanted to adopt a cat from here. I checked in a few times to meet the cats. I went with another organization. I'm surprised to see some of the cats are still there after such a long time. I hope they all find good homes!!!
