The 29th edition of the Drag March took place last night — a kick-off to NYC Pride Weekend.
Once again, a fabulous group of generation-spanning participants gathered in Tompkins Square Park for the march across Ninth Street to Sheridan Square and the Stonewall Inn.
Love the joy and sparkle in everyone's eyes. And the fact that the Jackie 60 t shirt verbiage uses "please" instead of the lately sadly ubiquitous f* you? Count on Chi Chi Valenti and Downtown keeping it classy.
ReplyDeleteI used to love Wigstock. That was one of the best events. I’m surprised it hasn’t been resurrected.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what happened to Lady Bunny the Queen of Wigstock and so much more ? I photographed her so many times over the years that there are probably thousands of her photos in my archive and I always loved her creativity and in your face Drag Queen spirit. I miss seeing her and hope she is ok !
ReplyDeleteLady Bunny is on Facebook and she is extremely active! Constantly touring and performing and DJing. I saw her perform in Miami in February.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE! (Love is love.) And Stacie, these photos are stunning.
ReplyDeleteThe 90s ruled. Gets truer with every passing year.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo story... the pictures are fabulous! I loved seeing everyone this year, and seeing every moment of the march! 🏳️⚧️💪💜🏳️🌈😻
